For the first time, Italy hosted the most important World Sailing event after the Olympics: over 900 sailors from all over the world competed in the waters of Northern Lake Garda to win the title of Youth World Champion!
In total, 11 events have been sailed, including the Male and Female divisions of the 29er Skiff, 420 Two Person Dinghy, ILCA 6 One Person Dinghy along with the Mixed Two Person Multihull and the Nacra 15.
An incredible show of wind and sails, which create choreographies on the cobalt blue waters of Lake Garda. A true paradise for sailors, made possible by the Pelèr, the morning wind coming from the north, and the Ora, the south breeze that arrives in the afternoon.
Lake Garda is considered one of the most renowned regatta locations in the world and its sailing clubs boast a long tradition.
Like the Sailing Club Gargnano, with the famous Centomiglia, the longest running and most famous regatta in Italy, which sees over 350 of the best crews on the continent compete every year. The next edition will be held on September, 7 and 8, 2024.
LAKE GARDA: SAILING, BIKING AND UNIQUE EXPERIENCES
However, the competition is also an opportunity to discover Lake Garda more closely, an ideal place for all water and wind sports, but also for cycling enthusiasts. The scenic cycle/pedestrian path of Limone del Garda overlooking the lake is considered the most spectacular in Europe.
Garda is a place full of charm, fascination and events, not only sporting ones. The website www.48hrsatlakegarda.com offers various sensory itineraries to experience it intensely.
From the blue of the water to the green of the olive groves, up to the yellow of the lemons, the proposals of www.48hrsatlakegarda.com are much more than weekend ideas. Four sensory itineraries ("blue", "green", "yellow" and "white") give the opportunity to immerse yourself in history, art, nature, design, sport and wellness.
