IN THE PLACES OF MARIA CALLAS AND PRIVATE EXHIBITION AT THE ARENA IN VERONA
One of the most incredible voices in music history, a disruptive stage presence that flooded the world’s most prestigious concert halls, romances of dramatic intensity, a life that is itself an Opera. This, and much more, was Maria Callas, the Divine. Maria Callas is credited with changing the history of opera. No singer other than her was able to achieve such musically expressive results, none was able to become a universally known and admired figure. 100 years after her birth, she continues to fascinate as a supreme artist, a woman and a style icon. Thanks to OW you can stroll through the streets where she lingered, sip a cocktail from the Terrace named after her, enjoy the lake from her “Sirmione” to being on the stage at the Arena di Verona.* Maria Callas inspires this entire itinerary and is its soul.

The experience kicks off in Sirmione, an enchanting peninsula south of Lake Garda where Callas lived with her patron and husband, accompanied by a biographer who will reveal anecdotes and fragments of her life. This will be followed by a light lunch in the elegant cocktail bar & bistro of the Hotel Villa Cortine, of which she was a frequent visitor in the 1950s. You will then move on to beautiful Verona where a visit to the Arena, closed to the public but exceptionally open just for you, is planned, where a private performance of her most famous arias will be brought to the stage.
* During the winter period, the experience will take place in Milan, at La Scala Theater, where Maria Callas built her myth between 1950 and 1961
